Lambeth Climate Partnership's third Quick Fire Talk is on Transport

It will feature short presentations from Lambeth-based companies and organisations on innovative air quality, freight, and active travel projects and networking opportunities designed to foster relationship building and knowledge sharing.

Event Highlights

5:30 to 6pm - Welcome: Start the evening with a 30-minute networking session to connect with fellow attendees, with refreshments. 

6 to 6:10pm - Impact on Urban Health Introduction: Learn about the charity's work in linking better freight to better urban health.

6:10 to 7pm - Presentations and Q&ZA: Hear from a diverse lineup of speakers, including representatives from green tech, micro/small businesses, medium/large businesses, academia, and the council. They will share their experiences on what worked, what didn't, easy wins, and hard but worthwhile efforts in the realm of transport and air quality. 

7 to 7:30am - Networking: Continue the conversation and build connections during the final networking session.

Speakers

Councillor Rezina Chowdhury - Deputy Leader of Lambeth Council and Cabinet Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean Air

Cllr Chowdhury has been a councillor for Streatham Hill East ward for 11 years and the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean Air for 3 years. She advocates strongly for action on the climate and ecological emergency and on advancing sustainable mobilities in Lambeth. She also oversees improvements to air quality, recycling and invests in Lambeth's parks. Cllr Chowdhury is also the Chairperson of the Lambeth Climate Partnership.  

Elliot Quinn - Climate Response Strategy Manager

Elliot has worked on delivering many of Lambeth's major sustainable transport strategies, such as Kerbside, Electric Vehicles, and the upcoming Freight and Servicing Strategy. Elliot will launch the engagement of the new strategy, outlining the processes and key principles for businesses and stakeholders.

Simon Lusby - Managing Director and Head of Transport

Simon is Managing Director & Head of Transport at City Science (opens in a new window), a UK SME focused on accelerating the delivery of decarbonisation by developing strategies and products that enable their clients to make informed, data-evidenced decisions on the big climate issues. Simon is a Chartered sustainable transport planner. He was previously Public Transport Strategy Manager at TfL, and was the lead transport advisor for Rory Stewart’s pre-Covid campaign for Mayor of London.

Nicolas Collignon - Co-founder and CEO

Nicolas is a co-founder and CEO of Kale AI (opens in a new window), which is developing AI technology to accelerate the transition to sustainable urban logistics systems. With a PhD in computational cognitive science, he has spent the past 5 years conducting research on cargo bikes and light electric vehicles in cities, working directly with logistics operators and manufacturers. His research on urban delivery efficiency has informed policy discussions and has been cited by the OECD and transport ministers. Through Kale AI, he combines this practical experience with AI technology to help logistics companies operate more efficiently in complex urban environments.

Oliver Lord - Head of Strategy

Oliver is the UK Head of the Clean Cities Campaign (opens in a new window), partnering with NGOs and grassroots activists to champion healthy, climate-friendly transport in cities. Before Clean Cities, Oliver worked with scientists to establish the Breathe London air quality project, and he spent years as a public sector policymaker and transport planner focused on reducing harmful emissions.

Tanja Dalle-Muenchmeyer 

Tanja is a project and programme manager focusing on urban challenges and opportunities relating to air quality, freight and ultra-low/zero-emission transport. She is currently the Net Zero manager at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, managing a range of programmes that are transforming hospital practices.

What can I do to help?

You can make your home or workplace cooler by improving insulation, adding shutters to windows, painting your roof and walls white, and increasing greenery

Opt for energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs to cut down on electricity use. Make it a habit to turn off lights and electronics when not in use, and unplug chargers to prevent phantom energy consumption.

Reduce meat consumption, particularly red meat, and opt for locally sourced and sustainably produced foods. Consider adopting a vegetarian or vegan diet to lower your environmental impact

Share information on climate change and its impacts with friends and family. Encourage sustainable practices, and support educational initiatives in your community to raise awareness.
